<} So Anyone have this model? I know its older but any tips and tricks from the community on this would be great. I couldnt find any bad reviews on it.

not a bad machine , its a manual ground balancing type . heres a link to download the manual if yours is not with your detector when it arrives . just look up yours and click on it , the pdf file you can down load and copy.

Thanks Dan, yeah I had found that. I saw some posts that this was the top that this unit was used for gold prospecting back in the 90s.

Just swapped out the 4900 for a Prizm 3. Seems much easier for me to use. Just had surgery on my foot so trying to heal up before I can run out and try it. Anyone have a Prizm 3? Any tips? already got the manual.

I detected with a Prizm IV for about 3 years. Made some great finds. My tip would be if you have a nickle signal, make sure that it does not waiver at all on the signal. I found that if it waivered it was a bottlecap or a pulltab.
