Usually spend my time hunting the beaches of Florida for gold but got bored with the results lately so headed back to the 1917 hotel I had permission to hunt today. This hotle has been hunted too death by me and others, but I wanted to try a little experiment. I brought my Sand Shark (PI) with me this time as well to see what that kind hunt that type of machine would do. That experiment was a total bust. The PI machine went nuts everywhere as if the grass was made of metal. Not surprised, but I had to find out for myself. So back to the car and pulled out the XLT. Hit the below 1899 Barber dime on the third target. A tough find in Florida especially in a well hunted site so I'm pretty stoked. That was my second old coin from the site the other one being a 1936 merc. Goes to show you no ite is really hunted out.

Pulling history out of the ground either in relics or old coins is soooo cool. I truly envy you hunters in the historic north. It's got to be exhilarating!! Down here its a real life treasure hunt to even find a sites that might have stuff from the early 1900's and older. Thanks for all the kind words. The addiction continue....
