Seeing as I will be posting about this site frequently, I'll get a journal going instead of posting a new thread for ever time I find stuff.
This dump is on the site of a farmhouse built in 1790. I have been md'ing this spot for a few months. Found alot of great stuff, including my 1825 Capped Bust Dime. Found the dump a while back, but just got to working it out. I've been raking away the brush and ground debris preparing the area to dig and sift. So far, all I have had to do to find stuff is rake out the brush!! I haven't even really begun to dig and sift. A this point I have a nice 50 x 50 area cleared out and ready to dig/sift. The pics I am going to post are the items I have found while simply raking out the brush.
The pics will start with today's stuff...:
TOOOOOOO HOT to be out in the sun today!! Heat index over 100 F and it's HUMID. The dump is at least shaded by alot of tree cover. I finished raking out the area and will be getting to some diggin/sifting done immediately. These are todays finds. Spoon has a nice Decco pattern. Fairfield company...:
