Hi all,
Found this a few weeks ago at an semi-old house site (around early 1900's). It's fairly heavy, maybe cast, and all word are back wards like it was used for a printing press. Got a mirror and wrote down what I say, and the title could of matched up to an 1949 childrens book called 'Those Dreadful Children. If so, what is this thing for?? Any body know:huh:

Thanks

Here is what it say's:

Those
Children
Will make me poor buying shoes
for them' Did you ever say
that? Then it was because you
had failed to connect with the
right kind of shoes. No chain
is so hard on a shoe as the wear
given by a healthy, romping
boy or girl. Manufactuers
have studied the master for
years ant the best results

That's cool Dan. Would it have been for the front cover, or for the whole story?
Thanks for the info. :waving:

measure up the dimensions of the plate . it could of been just one plate of hundereds that was used to print a particular page in those old hard cover story books . i seem to recall seeing them when i was very young and a lot of them had nice artistic pictures on every other page with the text printed on that thick white manila paper.

Dan, it only measures 2.25 x 4.25. Very interesting. Thanks again del. thumbsup01
