We finally got some significant rain this past Thursday, about 2 of much needed wet stuff. Our temps have dropped too, the highs have been in the 70s. Nice! Perfect weather for metal detecting!

The finds below come from three different sites that I hunted yesterday and today:
60871

And here are the keepers:
60872

Yesterday I hunted at an old park that I had hunted once before. My first good find of the day was this Walking Liberty Half. It was a nice 11-46 signal bouncing up to 11-47 on the E-Trac at 6 deep, and I thought it was going to be a silver quarter. When I saw the big silver rim at the bottom of the hole I knew it was a half. It's in pretty good shape and it sure did put a big smile on my face! Unfortunately, I was unable to find much else at this park except 2 buffalo nickels.

Today I got up early and went to an old park in a town I had never been to before. Apparently there used to be an old school where this park is, as the old 1908 cornerstone is displayed on a concrete pedestal. I found a 1920-D Mercury Dime right away, but things got really slow after that. I managed to find two Indian Heads dated 1905 and 1907 but that was it.

The second site I discovered today was an old town square. I had never been to this town before, but I definitely will be going back! This site proved to be a real honey hole. Within 5 minutes of firing up my E-Trac I found an 1876 Indian Head, a nice indicator of things to come. By 5:00 p.m. I had been detecting almost 10 hours straight throughout the day, and my arm felt like a wet noodle. By the time I stopped detecting at this town square park I had found the 1876 Indian Head, an 1876-S Seated Dime, 2 Barber Dimes, 2 Mercury Dimes, along with a few wheat cents. FUN!

Here are the Indian Heads I found today:
60876

And here are the silver dimes:
60877

Here is a closeup of the Seated Liberty Dime:

This 1905-S Barber Dime was in decent shape. It was nice to find one with an S mint mark even if it is a common date:

And 14 wheat cents:

What an incredibly fun couple of days! I will definitely be heading back to that town square! :thumbsup01:

What a great series of hunts Tony. Congratulations on the nice Silver, and the trifecta at the old town square. Very inspiring hunts. I guess it's time to dust off my detectors. Glad you finally got some rain. Temperatures have started cooling down for us as well.
