I found this token on a short hunt after work today. On one side it says Free Silver Coinage and has the number 16. The other side appears to be smooth. It is about the same size as a nickel. Seems that it may be associated with the 1896 political campaign of William Jennings Bryan? Not sure.
There was something about a free silver policy in the late 1800's - proponents of free silver wanting the ratio of silver to gold coins to be greater than 16 to 1. Not sure if that is what the 16 might mean? :thinkingabout: I don't remember the details, but I think WJ Bryan might have promoted it. Just a guess.
