I was on my way home from work this afternoon when I noticed a property owner outside
of a house I have had my eye on for a while. Pulled up, asked and received the 'go ahead'.

After going home to get my gear, I was back in the yard for a quick hour and a half hunt. thumbsup01

The Post Office button is my favorite. From a little bit of searching on the internet tonight,
I'm guessing probably from 1900-1915. I viewed an identical button from a seller claiming it from 1870's...
but I doubt it. :dontknow: I'd appreciate any info from the button experts. :)

The button looks great, Joe! It sure is in good shape! Very cool find! <:

Nice buffalo nickel too! 1915?

And an early Merc that doesn't have much wear as well. Nice! :happydance01:

Fantastic results for such a short hunt! Will you be going back?

Joe, way to seize the opportunity. Very cool postal button. I'm gonna agree with your time frame on that. Nice early buff and merc plus some bonus wheats. Gotta love doing private yards. :congrats:

Thanks guys. I do like the button. My neighbor is a retiring postal carrier and I plan on giving
him the relic.

1915?

Just a plain. While cleaning it, I was waiting for a mint mark to reveal itself... but nothing.

Cool finds! I wonder if the manufacturer of that button is the same company that went on to building Pettibone forklifts?
