Last night after work I stopped at an old familiar park that I have hunted to death, but I managed to find a 1912 Barber Dime and three wheat cents. Not too bad for a short after work hunt. The Barber Dime was a pleasant surprise.

This morning I tried a different old park in a town I had never been to before. After an hour and a half I hadn't found a single old coin, then I found a 1903 Barber Dime. After another hour of nothing it became apparent that this park had been hunted really hard and wasn't going to be worth the effort, so I left.

Knowing that I only needed two Indian Head cents to reach 100 for the year, I decided to head back to a park where I have been finding them lately. This is the same park where I found the sterling silver Army Air Corps pilot's wings a couple of weeks ago. I had previously found 7 Indian Heads there, but no silver coins. Today I got four Barber Dimes and five Indian Heads out of this park! The weather was simply gorgeous today, and my E-Trac's performance was just as beautiful as the weather. I also got a 1942-S war nickel and 11 wheat cents.

Five Barber Dimes in one day set a new record for me, my previous best was 3 in one day. Hard to believe I found six silver dimes in the past 24 hours and all of them were Barbers.

Here are the keepers from last night and today, before cleaning:

Five Indian Heads today. This makes 12 Indian Heads from this park.

The 1884 is in decent shape even though it is slightly bent:

This 1887 was my 100th Indian Head for the year.

I don't usually get too excited about wheat cents but this 1919-S came out of the ground looking very nice:

Here are the six Barber Dimes:

And here is a photo of the Indian Heads and Barber Dimes together, just for fun:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

:perfect10: Wow !! Looks like you cleaned house. That must either be s great machine or someone didn't hit the area very well. How deep were the Barber Dimes ?

How deep were the Barber Dimes ?

All of the Barber Dimes have been 6-8 deep. I think it is a combination of a great machine and a park that hasn't been hunted to death.
