Barber quarter - Sterling Tie Clasp - wheats

The morning started off with some rain but it cleared up by about 10am. I had secured us permission to hunt a farm that I was told dated to 1862. Between Rob and I the total was 1 wheat (mine). Very, very trashy site. We decided to head over to a park that we frequent. Started off with a couple of wheats then a signal that was bouncing all over the place. Decided to dig it(glad I did) and it was the 1902 Barber quarter. Now I know that I had gone over this same spot in previous hunts so maybe the rain helped. A couple of more passes, a few more wheats and then a nice dime VDI. This one turns out to be the sterling tie clasp(says Wells Sterling on the back).

I also found a base to a sculpture that says RIO 231 on the tag. Don't have a clue as to what was on top.

The wheats had nothing old in the batch so no picture.

I originally thought that it was a money clip but Rob thought a tie clasp. Would have been nice to find some folded money with it.

I was skunked bad... a lead seal from the farm and 7 wheats from the park...but...I've had worse days >:#
