Help

Hey guys. Found this while hunting an old school site today. School was built in the mid 20's. Its about the size of a quarter. Appears to be made of copper. Its 1/4 inch thick, and heavy. I do not know if it opens or not. Kinda seems like it has a seam around it but not sure. I don't want to pry on it till I kinda get an idea what it is. Because of the thing sticking out the top, I thought at first a small watch. But I think its too heavy for that. It weighs 19.7 grams. Thanks for looking. Any ideas or help would be appreceated. Does the chain connect on opposite sides of the seem? Almost looks like a snuff box of some kind, or may be a fancy watch fob. I bet there is a nice Silver Quarter inside. lol

Here are some more pic's after I cleaned it up a bit. I see no kind of markings. It does seem to have a seam that runs around it.
