Got permission to hunt a 1750s house and these are my better finds for the day. The CT copper is in great shape, and it's my first. The barber quarter is my second one and it is in nice shape too. The toy car is real interesting. It's small, but very heavy, almost like lead. The button different from the ones I normally find. The back mark only says Gilt and has an ivy design. Any help with the CT copper variety will be appreciated. HH all.

Mike , parts on N.Y. state has just the right amount of natural lime in the soil to keep them coppers from deteriorating much so i'm sure most of the coppers in your area will be sweet . just stay out of the fertilized farm fields that stuff is awful on them .

Dan, it was about 15 miles from where I live. You've been to my place. Hopefully you remember where I live.

Mike i've never been to your house , that was George that detected with you there . it only makes that copper even sweeter being from Ct. as most who have found them here knows its a pretty special one to find one like that.

Mike, Great finds especially the Conn. copper and it's in great shape too! To all the doubters,we actually DO save history as the acid rain would dissolve it in a few years....
