Hi Lojiber & Del.

Yes I feel bad about leaving some really old finds here in Scotland. I am quite new to detecting (1 year), and my oldest coin to-date has been a 1460-68 &quot:beerbuddy:ishop Kennedy (CRVX PELLIT OIE CRIM) coin. Other tan that my other finds have been within the last 100 years. All I can say is the grass is always greener...... I have been trying to find out if there are regular meetings for detectorists in the VT/NH areas, and hopefully I will get to meet up with other detectorists.

hey Ken the bad news is your very very unlikely to find anything as old as that Bishop Kennedy coin on this side of the big pond but there is some local detecting clubs in both vermont and New Hampshire . when you get settled in i'll throw you a few links to some , theres some good detecting and good people around those parts .

Hey Ken, and welcome from Missouri. :waving: I am also a member of the Detecting Scotland Forum. We went over in May and I met up with one of the members for alittle detecting one day. Beautiful country over there, and we have plans for a return trip next year. Already have several invites to do alot more detecting. Again, welcome and good hunting to ya, Eric

Hi Buck57, and thank you for your comments. Yes Scotland has many fine areas for Metal detecting, I have had many good days searching. I am looking forward to doing some detecting is the US though.

I hope to retire in Vermont. Yeah, as Dan said, you'll adjust your expectations for coin age. but I bet it will be just as fun. Vermont was its own country at one point. I found one of their coins a few weeks back. :waving:

Hi OxShoeDrew Thanks for you comments. I didn't know that about Vermont, that is very interesting. I am assuming as you found one of their coins, they (Vermonters) had their own currency. My wife & I will be living in Brattleboro from 12/31/12.
