Went back this evening before dark to hunt at the early 1800's house I reported some first finds on last week. This is the same house my son and friend found their first IH's at. Well tonight was my night for success. Went by myself as my son went to a water park down in the Poconos and Don was busy. First find was a '45 Wheat, so I knew we missed some stuff here the first time for sure. Second, find was another silver ring that was right at the base of the grass, newer wide ring marked 925 TW Thailand. Belle, the homeowner, thought it might be her daughter's so I let her have it to check out and if its not she said she'll give it back to me. Did I say Belle was a great lady, I will be happy if only it returns to its owner. After giving her the ring I continued on into the deep back yard where Don found his 1810 Lg Cent and the IH's by both him and my son found. Here is where I found a good signal in between some trash as I would get a sharp 77 VDI signal and then some splattering on either side of it. The D2 shined here I think, and was the only reason I got a good signal. I couldn't pin-point to good but honed in on the spot in motion mode. I dig down expecting trash and out pops this quarter sized disc. Thought it was a button but low and behold its a super looking 1865 2-Cent piece . This is my best condition old coppa coin by far :shocked04:. With thunderstorms rolling in I detected some more till the next signal, that turned up an older button. Great one hour hunt and assures me their is more at this site to find.

Yazoo and Jack, thanks for the Modified/Correlate C&J program you guys posted in the Whites section. I hybridized Yazoo's program with Jack's correlate settings and it is working very nicely thumbsup01!!

It was getting dark out so I didn't know how good it was until I got home . I was pretty excited to see part of the shield and the big 2 at the time of birth though rofl rofl.

WOW! I found 2 two centers last year but neither one looked anything like that, not even in the ballpark! The only thing better than finding a sweet coin like that is finding a sweet coin like that in AMAZING shape! Congrats!

That is one pretty 2 cent piece thumbsup01 Looks like hints of red on that coin. Definitely lost almost brand new. A beautiful coin. Gaze at it lovingly lol since they probably won't come out that way next time :ticked: Del had a sweet looking one come out last year. It spoils ya. ;) I think that place deserves a non stop 100 hour, marathon hunt lol

Oh man! That is just a beautiful looking 2 Cent piece. Congratulations on the nice hunt. I am feeling more and more confident with the D2 these days with every hunt. You hit it right on the nose, the D2 really shines separating out the deep stuff. I want all the details on your modified program when you find the time. Great finds.

SJV: This coin was near a tree lined property line. The soil was real loamy with lots of leaf compost. The plug actually disintegrated when I fliped it over. Because of this the coin actually popped out of the loose soil and I didn't find it until I covered up the hole and rescanned the area with the coil. Found it on top of the ground 3-4 from the hole. I think this 2-center held up really well because it didn't get to compacted with soil and water drained away nicely. I was just plain lucky .

:bangahead01: del says my pic of my 1864 small motto 2 cent sucks, so here's another. Any better? I had to put some something on it to get the detail, thats why it lokks pitted. It's not. Not much anyways. Look at Ebay, I've seen worse selling for up to $300 range. The &quot:grin: is visible, the WE is strong and the T in trust is good. Thats all you need to sell for between $200 and up. Their rare from what I've read.
