Found an interesting advertising token at an old farm

Hey diggers,

I got the go-ahead to MD at an old farm house that dates to the 1870s. No one lives there anymore so the grass was a bit thick. A little bit of extra work but I managed to get my coil down in a lot of areas.

First good signal was a 1902 indian head penny at 2 inches. Rang up as 08-35 on my e-trac (classic IH signal around here). I also found 4 wheaties with dates ranging from 1914 to 1946.

Around the front of the house I got a 12-44 at the surface. Sounded EXACTLY like a memorial penny laying on top of the ground. I couldn't see a coin so I stuck my pinpointer on the spot and it started chirping and vibrating like crazy. I was tempted to pass it by but decided to dig it anyway since I wasn't getting a lot of signals. Imagine my surprise when I popped out a 1907 Barber dime at 1/4 inch deep! I can't believe I didn't scratch it since I was being so careless! It looks like it was an early drop too. I can see a full LIBERTY on the crown.

About 10 feet later I got a nice penny signal about 6 inches down. I was thinking it might be a wheat penny but instead popped out a token. Turns out it is an advertising token (not sure of the age) for Sunrise Meats. It has a really neat Heads/Tails piggy logo on it.

I also found a WW1ish Enlisted Collar Brass.

Thanks for looking and HH, Dave.

Way to work thru the tough grass. That Barber looks real pretty and to bad that 1914 wheat was missing the &quot:grin:. Cool token too.

That is one of the coolest tokens I have ever seen posted! Great for coin flips - literally heads or tails!

Very nice variety of finds, Dave!

It sounds like that site has lots of potential. It makes you wonder what may be lurking beneath the tall grass. :thinkingabout:

Congrats on the Indian Head, wheaties and nice Barber Dime! Very interesting token too! That pig is kinda freaky looking. :shocked04: lol

Good job rescuing those coins and relics with a late season hunt! thumbsup01

Great job on getting permission and pulling some nice keepers out of there! I am sure there is more there! The pig token is cool and kind of funny, nice find!

you will do when you can get the coil right next to the ground. :->
