i see a lot of people got SLQ today ,well heres my story.
today me ,chrisinct and bama decided to hit a park 10 mins from my house that was given over to the town as a park back when chris was born (1894).
straight off i started hitting clad then after 10 mins i hit my first of 5 wheats , yes i thought......there might be silver here.
after working my way around some old trees i decided to head for the pond i could see down below ,by this point my hands felt like someone elses , bloody freezing and as numb as a rock !!!!.
i started working my way around the edge of the pond........penny...penny......wheat.....and then a nice quarter signal at 5 inches (at this point due to my ever numbing hands i had decided to dig nothing less than 4 inches).
i turned the plug over and stuck my pinpointer in the hole and straight away she started screaming !!!!!.
i pulled out a hunk of dirt and broke into it and wow !!!!! have you ever seen a beter condition dug 1917 :huh:thinkingabout:.
among the profanities chris threw at me he said man your killing me do you bring these with you to make me look bad ?.

sounds like what a couple of my hunting buddeis have told me sometimes it better to be just plain lucky congrats on a beutiful coin everybody right they dont often come out looking that good :perfect10: :perfect10: great job and what a way to go finding that one this late maybe a little while before a lot of us can get back out dennis :detecting: :detecting:

Such a beautiful coin, and it has very little wear. I just love the beading around the rim on the obverse. So often that is worn off. I found a 1917 SLQ a few months ago that was fairly nice, but yours is even nicer!
