Not much experience. We bought the DFX in '03. Used it off and on. Most finds on our property. It used to be a farm so a lot of buried barbed wire. LOL

Wife has found a couple of nice rings in parks.

I am retired and wife is retiring this summer. We consider ourselves rank noobies. Always open to advice. Looking for experienced buddies in our area.

We are diehard Gettysburg and Antietam history buffs. I actually was allowed to accompany a MDer on private property in middle of the Antietam Battleground in '03. Wasnt allowed to do anything but watch however.

Our main interest is relics and hopefully coins.

Chuck the DFX is a very good relic finding machine and you keep detecting old fields and parks and your shure to find some old relics from one of the major wars. Connecticut supplied huge numbers of soldiers and resources in the Revolutionary ,War of 1812 and the Civil War and many of my military relics ( buttons , badges and plates) were lost from the veterans returing home. i'm sure you and your wife will find your share history burried beneath our feet.

I have definitely heard of Monmouth, IL, but I'm not sure if I've ever been there. I'm originally from a small town in southern Illinois called Flora so that's my old stomping grounds and the area I'm most familiar with.
