so yesterday me and bama decided to hit a park that is right next to a very well known factory here in ct and although the weather did not look to promising we dressed warmly and off we drove.
10 mins later we found our selves looking at 119acres of wind swept snowy park and trying to decide where to start.
we eventualy decided on a place where bama had found a standing liberty during the summer with his E track and although the place was trashy off we went.
working in a line up the field i began to hit clad and a million bottle caps this new f4 loves em and thay ring up dead on a 25 cents 80-82 .
as i got to the end of the field i noticed a number of small humps in the ground all in a line , i think i counted 6 , thats weird i thought ? in a park.
anyway i thought i would go over them anyway to see what thay where and straight away started digging old house items , decrative copper, broken glass, and other things as well as a ton more bottle caps.
after 10 mins i decided not to dig any more 80-82 signals but then got another quarter hit but this one was deeper at 6 inches so i thought what the hell ill dig it and as i turned over the plug there at the bottom sat a standing liberty !!! i dropped back on my haunches and called bama with out even touching it.
after we looked at it and saw there was no date to see off i went again.
10 steps later a chopy signal hit my ears and after digging it i was right , piece of copper gutter but right next to it i could see glass so i popped it out and lo and behold a fully intacked perfume bottle with the glass stopper still in it !!!!.
bama and i soon knew we had stumbled onto the old house site of the workers from the factory that had been knocked down and grassed over many year before.
bama got a huge piece of what we think is silver , perhapes a bell part or something along with more house stuff but soon the snow got to bad and we called it a day.
the bottle i got is from 1921 as i later found out from a site on the internet , anyway heres some pics as promised as well as somthing i found a few days ago that i would like some one to i.d for me.

Lee, your hunting knows no boundries. :congrats: on the SLQ. I always like finding intact bottles while metal detecting, its like an added bonus. As far as the other thing you have a picture of possibly Supermans original chest emblem...... :dontknow:

Awesome SLQ, Lee! One of my all-time favorite coins! :smitten:

That glass bottle is very cool too! Very fortunate that you found it intact, and with the glass stopper even!

The brass S plate is very neat too, I wonder what it was once attached to? :thinkingabout:

Terrific finds! |:cheering:

Lee, Have you dated that bottle? A very nice find indeed, as well as the other items. Too bad we are getting pounded again today :frozen:

:congrats: On the standing Liberty! Nice find! Love the perfume bottle! It's cool when you can get it out of the ground, unbroken. Very nice hunt! The snow is melting here. And the temps are rising!
