Had a Pretty Good Friday

Found some nice keepers today. Connecticut coppers seem difficult to date. I think the date is 1787…and it looks like the date was struck far to the right, not center like one would assume. It seemed lighter than KGs, but larger in diameter than other CT coppers I’ve dug. The “Connec” was very clear in the field, as was the left facing bust. Also, this coin was 2 inches deeper than normal coppers, and read 89-95 on the VDI…higher than normal.

The castanoga bell is the largest one I’ve dug….and still has the string on it. Unfortunately the pock marks showed up while cleaning. The bell was found right where the garage used to stand, the carriage long since rotted away. Buttons were mixed in among the nails where I've previously pounded :dontknow:.

The rosette’s back bar is gone. Have a good weekend everyone, Drew :groovy:
