Had a three day weekend so I loaded up the treasure wagon full of my hunting buddies and we all hit the road. :grouphug: Still ran into some occasional frozen ground but overall it wasn't too bad. First good hit was a 1944-P war nickel at 5 inches. happydance02 It was a solid 12-29 and I was totally surprised when I saw the silver nickel. I only decided to dig because of the strong solid sound. :omg: Nothing else in the hole. I still can't figure out the 12-29? The next day I got a 1962-D Rosie at 5 inches. <: Plus I got a couple of Wheaties and 48 clad coins totaling $3.34. Also got a solid 12-40 and I thought it was another Wheatie but it turned out to be something copper that I have never seen before. Please see the picture and let me know if you have any idea of what it is. Happy hunting to all. Spring is finally here! <: :beerbuddy:

Congrats on the silvers, Fred! I have heard of war nickels ringing up high like that. Probably why I don't find very many.

I have no idea what that copper thingy is, but it's cool looking.

Nice finds! |:cheering:

Nice finds!

The 12-29 war nickel is interesting. The really tarnished ones tend to come in lower, most of the ones I have found came in at 11-14, BUT, last year I dug one right under the surface that rang up 11-44. :shocked03:
