Hit some new territory with a buddy today. Nice spot, but the hits were few and far between. But my first target of the day was a beauty. An 1832 Capped Bust quarter ! I didn't dare clean it in the field but my buddy took a look and knew exactly what it was. As a matter of fact he practically predicted this find. On the hike in he stated that you never see people posting Capped Bust quarters. He was rewarded later in the hunt with a nice Colonial copper.

That is truly one of the most incredible coins I've seen posted on this forum! Like Dan said, once in a blue moon you will see a capped bust dime or half, but virtually never a quarter!

And that one is in GORGEOUS condition! :smitten:

The colonial coppers and Spanish silver are always great finds, but early US silver really cranks my tractor! (As Cody would say!)

Congrats on the great find of a capped bust of this quality! I always carry a small container of DISTILLED WATER with me to drop this type of find in to stop the temptation of rubbing the dirt off,works real well...
