Hello everyone,

My name is Sean and I just got a Garrett AT Pro maybe last month or so. I've had uncles that have been metal detecting for ages and they have found some very cool stuff, so I thought I would give it try.

I stationed in Northern Vermont for now. The house I'm renting has a 5 acre backyard and used to be an old farmhouse so I thought it would be a good place to practice. I've found mostly junk, but the other day I found this, a vanity vase from the 20's! So, now I'm hooked.

Looking forwarded to being an active member on here. Please contact me if you're in the area.

I love your state and love that case.
I found a case just like it last summer, Colgate bought 'em out in the late 20s and ruined the brand. They
quickly disappeared.
Sounds like you have a nice place to practice. Look forward to your posts, and welcome from Ct.

Hi Sean,
I just got the AT Pro in March and so far I really like it. |:cheering: Would LOVE to have an old farmhouse to hunt but old places around here in the Pacific Northwettest are not all that easy to find. Hope you enjoy the hobby and keep posting pics of your finds.

Interesting, I couldn't find much information about the company, so that explains a lot.

I feel like I made the right choice, it was important that I got one that was water proof as well, I really want to try my luck in a nice little stream or river.

Yes Air Force, I just came from Aviano, Italy. I was there for two years. Unfortunately I JUST now got into detecting, oh well..
I'm currently stationed at the guard base in Burlington, it's a new program called Total Force Integration the AF is trying out. Integrating active duty and guard personnel in the same base, while trying to save money. I'm not complaining, love the area.

Welcome to the hobby and the forum from SE Wisconsin. That is a cool relic to get you started. I'm sure that property will produce some nice finds. Just take it slow and learn what the detector is telling you and you will be rewarded. Good luck and happy hunting.

Just saw your post from last year Sean. If you're still in the area perhaps we can get together sometime this spring. I'm also in the Burlington area and have found a number of older sites I plan to hunt once we can get into some warmer weather. I'm a novice for sure, but am very encouraged by what I found up here on just a few hunts last fall. Shoot me a note/private chat and maybe we can work something out.
