From the land of the Bluenose.....Navy Davy and I hooked up around 1000hrs just as the heat hit. Button hole was there.....at least some of it as once again the water level had risen. Let me tell you me son the humidity was high and we sweated bullets big time! Especially Navy Davy who was on K.D. duty...keep digging his and my holes! ND finally came up with a hypothsesis of why there is so many buttons at this location.
Apparently in the early 1880s there was a paper mill here and in those years paper was often made from cloth fibres...remove the buttons from old military uniforms and voila...........the reason. The factory burned down and everything was covered or pushed into the man made lake.

Anyway we dug with ND on a silvery misssion with a bow and cross which he later told me was a pair of crappy signals.

Had given the Freedom 3 Plus a rest as I needed to adjust the battery holder which is a common flaw with this great machine. The pro (with the regular double &quot:grin: coil) when swung every so slowly will give you a good number amoungst the bad. Usually don't rely on the digital numbers on the LCD but in this high junk area it was usefull.
Managed a few coins and a 62nd regimental button.

After an hour we called it a day, got dropped off and hit the shower.

No knee problem today.........oh joy! <;)

Finally a hunt that ended with NO knee problems.. :congrats:

Your theory on why the buttons are there sounds right on. In fact you just reminded me of a spot just like that. Paper factory with a ton of buttons.......I'll have to find that spot again.
