Hi,
I've been hunting an estate built in the late 1870's. The property was originally 20 acres, but I just hunted around where I believe the carriage house was, due to all the horse tack I've dug. I had, for me, a stellar day digging a 1902 O barber quarter, a 1908 S barber quarter, and 1907 O barber dime and a 1911 D barber dime. I dug a few cool buttons, a couple of Indian heads and wheats, and had a good time.
Thanks for looking!

What a great hunt you had, don't see many posts with 4 Barbers. :congrats: and I hope the site will produce some more keepers for you.

Awesome hunt! |)

Two Barber Quarters in one day is amazing! I've never found two in one day. It looks like you have an incredible site to hunt there.

The old reeds could be out of an accordion or pump organ. I makes you wonder if they used to have shindigs on the site. :thinkingabout:

Congrats on the spectacular day! I would be hitting that site some more! |:cheering:

Thanks,
I believe the reeds are from little squeeze boxes. I've found close to a hundred of them all over the property. When the original owner died and his family moved away, the property was turned into an orphanage. So I think they are the remnants of orphan's toys. They must have given them all the same toy. The site has produced a lot of indian heads, barbers and relics so you can count on me hunting it some more. :-)

It's been a while since I've seen a 4 Barber day :shocked04: Nice hunt :clapping: That sure sounds like a great place to hunt. I'm betting we see some more great finds from there. The reeds are organ reeds. If you Google organ reeds and hit images, you will see more of them than you ever wanted to see lol Nice axe head too.
