I made it out for a bit on Sunday, about 1 1/2 hrs. I took the 3030 for its maiden voyage in THE PARK, as noted in the Minelab section, I was having some issues with the audio. The 3030 did not disappoint. Not 5 min in, in an area Al and I have both scoured over a nice 12-44 signal...there was a beaut 1916 barber dime staring back at me. Due to the noise that the 3030 was giving off and the people watching me..it's a shady area ...I moved out into the field area hoping to lessen the audio and the unwanted attention it was bringing. I managed a few wheats and a V nickel...then the rain unleashed itself >:\

Monday, Tim and I met up at about 6:30...we headed up to a park area. Spent a lot of time finding nothing. Then we found a hot area I found a wheat, then some misc. Tim calls me over, covers up his plug and says...tell me what you think it is.I run my coil over..dime he says what kind..I remark barber...nope 1877 seated CC. A few swings later I get an indian, very worn, can only make out 187_, and also manage a flat button.Ad again, the rain chased us away >:\

Congrats on the finds, Rob! We'll just go ahead and say that Indian Head is an 1877. thumbsup01

It sounds like that hot spot might be a good place to hit again.

Nice hunting there Rob and Tim. Come on we all know its an 1877 IH.....For some reason that 3030 is very loud, I can hear it from about 30 yards away.

:congrats: on all those keepers and dang the rain

Interesting that the 3030 works for you. When I first took it out, I still found clad :thinkingabout:

Congrats on your finds and continued good luck with the detector. |:cheering:

Great finds, Rob. It's amazing that in our area there is still soooo much to be found after 45 years of scouring with metal detectors. Now, please buy a better camera to sharpen the closeup shots.
