Hello American Detectorist!
Please forgive me. It has been ages since I made a post. In fact I have only been out hunting about 7 or 8 times this year. For just a few hunts I have done very well on the Silver, especially over on the western slope of Colorado where we have traveled 5 Times so far this year. We come here to see family, and to relax for a long weekend. I always bring my E-Trac along, and so far I have picked up around 30 Silvers this year total. I am very thankful for the little time I have to hunt these days, and it does give me very much needed relaxation, and rest. Metal detecting is truly a great hobby.
This trip found me in a new hunting location just a few blocks from where we are staying with Family. This location was an old park that I have always wanted to hunt. I had a few hours first thing in the morning to give it a shot. A quick cup of coffee, and I was out the door. I drove up to the park, and all was quiet. I was about 30 minutes into the hunt when I received a very clean quarter hit! Upon seeing the depth indicator on the E-trac bouncing at 8 to 10 inches I got very excited. It pinpointed lightly, just right for a deep coin! I cut the plug, and folded it back carefully. I first pinpointed a small piece of folded over pull tab, a few scoops of dirt, and my pin-pointer reveled a large Silver coin...

I managed 4 more Wheat Pennies, and then I was out of time for the day, and due back at the house to go out to lunch. A short hunt, and very reminiscent of my year so far... Not a lot of time to hunt, but quality time at that.

Keep Swing'in

Great to see a post from you, Jack!

Congrats on the fantastic seated quarter! <:

Those sure don't turn up very often. Your photos are beautiful! I wish we still had the AD calendar because those photos would look great in it.

I can't watch your video here at work but I will when I get home.

Congrats again on the nice find! |:cheering:

Thank you all very much for the nice comments. I never got to go out for another hunt. We had to cut the trip short due to all the flooding back home in Fort Collins. Our home is on high ground, but there are many here who have lost everything. Still raining, and hoping for dry weather in the coming days.

I can't believe how quickly things got out of hand. Read some 500 unaccounted for :shocked04: Hope the best for everyone out there.
