I was looking at a Minelab post about GPS and it seems like this may be a tool I could use to improve my detecting. I have a couple questions, 1. Can a phone cause problems with the detector and 2. Does anyone have suggestions for an Iphone app that works well to track my detecting?
I normally leave my phone in the truck to avoid distractions but I could change that if the benefit outweighs the negatives. I would appreciate anyone's inputs about the advantages of GPS.

Thanks
Ron

I use GPS Kit with my iPhone. its a hiking app. I always have my phone with me and have never had any interference issue with either the ET or CTX.

I use an app called Trailhead, made by Northface. Works pretty well and I think it was free.

Go to this website & get the app: GPS Map Apps & Resources for Outdoor Enthusiasts | Trimble Outdoors (http://trimbleoutdoors.com/)

Very useful to get me in the zone when locating cellar holes out in the woods!

It used to be a free service but now it's about $30.00 for the Elite package. It's a lot cheaper than buying a GPS unit. It does eat up battery power, so only use it when you need to get in or out.

The more time I spend digging & the less time walking around blind looking for a site is money & time well spent. http://tnet.forumfoundry.com/forums/images/smilies/icon_thumright.gif
