Got out yesterday to get in one more hunt before the rain and cold ends this year off. Went to an new site in a field that had an old house on it. Major iron in the ground here. Got some relics and amidst the iron the CTX gave me a squeak and a 14-45 TID that was just a narrow band but it finished my year off with another old silver! Popped out still stuck in a frozen clod, put it in my pouch that way until I got home. Found a nice little lock and a very intricate and pretty ladies buckle, I have not seen one like this before.

Nice Barber. Same year the Titanic sank, hard to believe that was over 100 years ago.

Sweet looking Barber, great way to end the year. Very nice design on the lock and the buckle looks fantastic. Wouldn't it be great if we could see the whole ladies outfit....

Here is the back side of the buckle and a side view. The pin part is a bit bent and it will move some properly and if you slip the pin back through it will move more. How old do you think this is...Victorian?

It is 3 1/2 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. Look at this picture of the dirt clod the Barber Dime came out of....sort of a "negative" of the reverse. I of course have seen this before but this one was especially neat!

Congrats on the late season Barber Dime, Tony! I love the photo of it still in the dirt clod, and the reverse image in the dirt. Neat!

Really interesting buckle too. I've never seen one like that.

Cool old padlock as well!

:congrats:
