Thanks for the warm welcome. For the past year I have been swinging a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV and have made some amazing finds! Santa was good to me and placed a MXT ALL PRO under my XMas tree! Unfortunately I am having issues with the MXT and had to send it back to whites and hoping to get it back soon! I like detecting old homes, celler holes and older parks! HH DanG

Just joined here too, Dan. I'm even more of a noob than you. Haha. Itching for the snow to go away and it get warmer out to take my new detector out. I've had owned a cheap one for many years. Took it out once on a trip to Maine. I did find an old iron and a bunch of old bottles. But I haven't been out much due to lack of research where to go. I prefer coinshooting for old coinage. Del, I might be interested in checking out YTC. The meetings are held closer to me than Nutmeg or the other group. Lately I've been spending a significant time researching local places. Uconn has a website Magical Historical Map collection. You can find stuff there, but mostly from mid 1800's.

I'd like to add from my research, I believe if some of you have stumbled upon the FMDAC site, it appears to be out of date or incorrect. Directly from the DEEP website. http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?A=2716&Q=417480

Welcome from central Illinois! :waving:

Glad to have you here, DanG! You live in an area with lots of history. I am jealous of the finds that can be unearthed up there in Connecticut. I hope they get your MXT fixed up good as new.

Best of luck and happy hunting!

Tony

Welcome Dan. Like you, I have been detecting for 1 yr now, also swing the MXT Pro & live in central CT. I don't get out as much as I would like, but if you ever need a partner let me know. I have much to learn, so I have been considering joining YTC too. Happy hunting.
