Hi there-I have 1 "season" of metal detecting experience, so I consider myself an un-educated novice. Looking forward to learning from those with much more experience. To date I have found 3 silver dimes, a small silver ring, lots of clad and a ton of trash. I recently upgraded from a Fisher F4 to a Garrett AT Pro, once the 2' of snow melts and the other 2' of frost comes out of the ground Ill be looking to try my new machine out. I live in central Maine-

You guys are getting hammered up there. :frozen: When it does melt, the soil should be nice and saturated for them deep finds to ring nicely.

been a tough winter, started with the coldest air we had seen in 4-5 years, much colder than normal, now we are quickly catching up on our annual snow pack.........8-10" last night, with another 6-10" forecast for tomorrow night.......when the spring thaw hits provided we don't get hit with a lot of rain, believe it or not it dries up rather fast...........doesn't appear to be a lot of mineralization though, so that's good........

I'm with you on the frozen ground- not as much snow here, but albeit still frozen :girlcry:

Like some others mentioned you're in a great location for older finds- looking forward to seeing/hearing about your upcoming hunts! I use V3i but have several friends here in Ky that do very well relic hunting w/ their ATPros :thumbsup02:

And a warmer welcome from Georgia, although we had a couple of "stay inside" days. I feel and am very fortunate to be able to get out currently and get some swingtime in. Stay warm and keep hoping!

Welcome from central Illinois! :waving:

Glad to have you here, slvrsrchr! You live in an area with lots of history. I am jealous of the finds that can be unearthed up there in New England.

Best of luck and happy hunting!
