I've been scrounging around collecting up all of the lighters that I've dug metal detecting and here's one I recently found up stairs from probably 5 years ago that I dug out in Battle Creek. I had one hell of a time getting the flint tube cleared out and by the looks of it I tried back right after I dug it but evidently I threw in the towel on it back then. I used one of the wicks from an old Zippo insert along with the flint spring. The thing that I noticed about this lighter is it has an aluminum diecast insert in it which is kinda unique I thought cause I've never noticed it before. She's mighty corroded but she's working and through some research I found out that it's much older than I figured, its WWII era.

cool history , amigo! I wish that we Michiganders had more ancient battlegrounds to explore.

WTG on saving that! Too bad we don't make things that last like that anymore.
