Today was a scorcher! :shocked01: It was 85 to 87 degrees and no clouds to offer cover - just the bright, hot sun. I'm sure glad I had some Gatorade with me while I detected this afternoon. I was perspiring like General Custer at his last stand.

I did manage to pick up three silver dimes before calling it quits though. :thumbsup01:

It was a perfect day out today, but that sun was relentless. You sweat just being there  Still managed 3 nice silvers. :thumbsup01: How did the dry ground affect your depth or sound quality??

The ground out on the open field was hard to dig into... very dry and compacted. :shocked02: I was actually trying to determine if there was a hit on depth or the way the deeper targets sounded, and it was noticeably different from when the ground is damp.

Speaking of Custer...I was metal detecting in his hometown. Middle of nowhere! Too funny, they have like 12 houses there and a gen. Custer museum. It's literally a small storage shed.

Wow nice finds as usual!

I don't DETECT any sarcasm with your 87 a scorcher comment? Around here you gotta get out before the sun comes up to find 87. You must live in Detectopia...

It's about the same here in Florida. The humidity is terrible, even in the AM. I break out in a sweat after just a few minutes, and am usually drenched in no time. It is water-detecting season here, for sure.

Nice silver Angel, as usual.
