I've been able to get out the last few days for the first time this year. Of course it's supposed to snow tonight. :girlcry: Anyways here is my best find. I love tokens but this one is from the 1950's and the subject matter leaves me a little unsettled. I don't know, but the terminology accepted and rejected, along with iconography, I find to be reminiscent of eugenics and the forced sterilization program that 33 states in the US adopted and led to the forced sterilization of disabled people, including those with epilepsy. This continued in a few states until the 1970's. I don't want to get preachy but eugenics is not only immoral, contributing to the holocaust. But also pseudoscience, since it's impossible for humans to predict which individuals will be most fit in the future.

A great piece of history there!
I think you are spot on on with your thinking here......kind of creepy and maccabe in the terminology and iconography....very cool no less!

Definitely unusual for a modern token. Where did one even get one of those back then? Some things seem right only to look bizarre later down the road. Evolution?....... or just stupidity :thinkingabout:
