Went to another site that has been on my hit list for a while. It was an hour hike in and then another 30 minutes to finally locate the hole. The site was pretty choked for the most part but there was some room to swing a coil. The hole is hidden at the top of the little hill.

Lots of iron and junk. I started hitting a few good targets as I moved away from the hole. The shoe buckle frame surprised me. I didn't think the site was that old.

Just a few minutes later I hit a 1846 Braided Hair.

Hit a couple of buttons and a 1914 wheatie before I had to head out. Definitely worth another visit. Took a slightly different route out and spotted another cellar :). I will be back.

Hour hike? Holy large tract of land. I hope the hike is relatively level. Seems like it's worth it though Jeff, good luck on return trips.

Yeah, you might think I lived in Montana  But, it's not how far the site is from the road, it's how far the site is from where you can park your car! This site from where I parked was only about a mile due south as the crow flies. But I had to maneuver around a swampy area, then head west to avoid a housing development, skirt another little swamp, then head to the far southern end of the site so I could detect as I headed back north. Sometimes I do more hiking than detecting !

I appreciate the offer to help detect the site(s) :thumbsup02:

Pulled the first deer tick of the season off me. The little *&^% had already latched onto me...where the sun don't shine :ticked:

Tick's? :shocked04: Got to get yourself some under armour. It is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to not letting in ticks. Dan also brings some spray called Permethrin for skeeters and ticks . Nice buckle and copper Jeff.:clapping:Now you have 2 places to go next time out. :thumbsup01:

Thanks George. Yeah, I need to stop rolling the dice on the deer ticks and get a bug suit. I pulled too many off me last year. I finally found someone that carries permethrin over the holidays and bought three cans. I had treated a pair of jeans but of course wore a different pair on this hunt :disgusted:

Nice buckle and Large Cent. Could you have parked on the street in the subdivision and walked in from there? It is nice to see persistence rewarded! :detecting:

That would have shortened the hike quite a bit Bell-Two, but people don't take kindly to strangers walking through their yards early in the morning :bop:. I prefer the long hike to a stick to the head.....or worse ;)

Some nice finds, especially that 2nd cellar hole. To far in the woods for me to even think about it......

Hope that 2nd hole produces well for you.
