Was out meandering at a friend's place. Walking along the creek and checking the bases of trees, I dug these 3 items. They weren't in the same hole, but were near the bases of 3 different trees, yards apart. 379023790337904 The first is a pendant or the like. It has USN on it with an anchor on the bottom. The button has an eagle on it, and the bullet hasn't been shot! Sorry the pictures suck. I know I won't be getting the 'photographer of the month' award.
Thanks for looking.

I like the U.S. Naval "fob" :smitten: is there anything on the back ?? it looks to have some nice gilt under the dirt , a little lemon juice will clean that up some.nice WWI to WWII Army button too.

However, your finds deserved a post of there own. I You must have been on some sort of military kick that day, Army, and navy in one hunt..very cool

RobW, your photos couldn't be worse than mine. But I will say, that half if not more of my problem is lack of good technology, aka cheap camera, cause I'm too cheap to buy another, and i've had the digital camera for at least 10 yrs. Afterall, this MD hobby is the first opportunity that I've 'needed' better equipment. (I don't have a camera on my original cellphone, either!)

Well the most important thing is finding the items, you can always work on the pictures!

That is a good looking fob. I've never found one with the chain attached. Looks like it will shine up nicely.

Very cool ! Wonder if they are connected? That's exactly what I was wondering when I found them in such close proximity.

Those are three neat finds, Kacey! It does seem possible that they are connected.

I really like the USN fob. Pretty neat that it still has part of the chain attached.

:congrats:

I took someone (on this forum's) advice and soaked the pendant in lemon juice this morning. It turned out really nice. I am able to make out that there are some imprinted letters on the 'clasp' part, but I can't make out what it says. There is nothing imprinted on the back, but it looks like someone inscribed a '4' and a 'B", very rudimentarily.

Nice looking fob:thumbsup02: It is odd to have those 3 items so close together without thinking they may be related. I bet they are. Some nice finds Casey and they are not iron for a change ;)

3848338484 Ok, guys and gals, I finally graduated to the 21st century and got my first smartphone, so once I learn and master it, I'll be able to better document my meager finds. So here's my first stab at showing you the Pendant after I cleaned it with lemon juice. Any and all comments to better improve your viewing pleasure will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Very sharp and clear photos, Kacey! (And a great find too!) I almost looks like there are initials "LB" scratched into the back of the fob.

I learn fairly quickly, so this smartphone isn't going to out-smart me! And yes, there is some etching on the back, I originally thought '4 B' but you may be onto something. In closer inspection, based on the size of the B, it may even be an E in front of the B.
