This afternoon I made a return trip to the site I worked yesterday and managed to dig up a few more silver coins, three Barber dimes, dated 1908, 1913, and 1916-S, as well as a 1919-S mercury dime.

There are 22 wheat cents in the pile. Some of them fared better than others. The better ones were found in an area where the soil has good drainage.

This is an interesting token, a type I don't remember seeing before.

There are quite a few of these at that site too.

Still not a silver Roosie out of that place :shocked04: chances and the law of averages are you would pull a well worn Seated out of there before a 46' or older now.The wheats you have showing are all pretty early too . My theory is that place has been cleaned out pretty good and your great skill with your deep seeking machine is reaching the once unattainable .What is happening ? Are the majority of these coins you are finding super deep , super masked or both ? Do you think you would not have gotten some of these if you weren't using the E-trac ?

The site has definitely been cherry-picked. What remains is either deep or masked by trash. Of the eleven dimes I found the past two days only one was relatively shallow, at about six inches, with the rest at about 8 or more. I'm certain several I would have picked up with my Sovereign GT as it is no slouch when it comes to depth, though the ones that were found in the trashier areas would have posed a challenge.

Those coins weren't zinc pennies by any chance?

Nice hunt Angel. You never get tired of finding Barbers. Seated (and older) are a special treat, and only come around every once in a while. But if you hit an older area, the Barbers can come out in nice quantities :thumbsup01: Lots of lead that time around too. Good solid hunt!
