Dan, the coppers look like you coated them with clear coat. Rob, at least you are finding good stuff while MD'ng, and not working as a camera operator.:hystericallaugh:

Mine is nothing more than finding 48 clad pennies at the fairground field, where the carnival rides are set up. My guess: someone dropped a roll of pennies and didn't bother picking them up. They were under the grass layer, but basically surface, and all were within a 1' diameter of a circle. (Yes, I even looked for the other 2!)

Yeah...but I don't think that was your best coin spill...I think it was those 7 coppers in one hole a few years ago...I can't remember exactly what they were...but I think you should repost it...I even heard about it from a guy you work with while I was out detecting one day

Thanks for reminding him Rob....I was about to do it  All colonial coins...I think 6 of them stacked on top of each other. How quickly he forgets a spill like that. :shocked01:

I have yet to find an old spill, but like KCFindIt I found a good clad spill last year. After all was said and done I recovered 143 nickels and pennies. Who carries and spills that many coins? It wasn't a mother lode, more like a second cousin lode.

My son's one and only hunt produced a spill of over 100 coins...we stopped pulling them out after a while, all clad. My best was three 1734 coppers. The middle one was in fantastic shape.

I know most of you have machines that read numbers, but I`m still using my old faithful bounty hunter which gives me low and high tones.Last weekend I got an erratic tone of both,so if in doubt dig it out.At 5in.out came a clad nickel and a dime than rechecked the hole and there was a Kennedy half dollar.Just wondering what kind of numbers you would have read with your machines with a spill like that.

I found a Washington, rosie and 2 wheats together... but I witnessed a friend find 18 silvers during a group hunt! Mostly mercs... it was amazing. I was so jealous LOL

Hunting a old homestead called the Almonrhoad house on a creek near where my family grew up on. Got a penny signal and turned out to be 5 Indian head pennies the oldest one being an 1864! It also happened to be the first IH pennies I ever found!
