V3i last few finds Large Cents, Indians, etc.

Hi, all, I don't usually post much, but Angel has been after me to show what the V3i has been finding on my last few hunts.
I didn't take a pic of the clad and other stuff as it fills a quart zip lock bag.
I had the V3 for a couple months or so, but wasn't too impressed at the depth I was getting. I sent it out for the upgrade to the V3i, received it back mid-May. I don't know what they did to improve it, but WOW. The coins in the pics are for about 12 - 15 hours hunting time. I measured the deep stuff with a ruler, bottom of hole to soil level. I'm using the stock D2 coil. and Angel convinced me to get the Sunray probe as I was always calling him over to help me pinpoint the deep targets. The first that I found was the CT copper at 8 inches. The 1848 Large Cent at 7 1/2 inches. The 1838 Large Cent at 11 1/2 inches. 1860 Indian at 9 inches. 1876 CC Seated Dime at 9 1/2 inches. 1900 Indian at 8 inches. 1897 V Nickle at 6 inches. 1902 V Nickle at 7 inches. And the dirt was powder dry!!!!!!!!
Target separation was great, with trash on each side of the Seated dime, a nail in with the 1902 V Nickle.

Nice finds Midas . It appears the V3i is a force to be reckoned with .Do you think it handles dry dirt better than an E-trac or Explorer and how does the weight/balance compare to these units ?

Nice job Midas Im confused did you use the stock coil or the one Angel recommended?

I guess if it gets this depth in bone dry dirt, it should do better in damp soil.
I'm using the stock D2 coil. The pinpointer DX-1 is what Angel recommended and it works great. You really don't need a pinpointer when you only dig a few inches, but when the targets are down >6 inches, it is a necessity.

Del, I didn't notice erratic behavior on the V3 before the upgrade. The one thing I did notice after the upgrade is greater depth, a lot better target separation in trashy areas and when good targets are next to or on top of iron (not quite as good as the Etrac on iron see through) and better ID at depth.

Seems like White's has leveled the playing field a bit by upgrading it. I wanted to get one but just couldn't get past the falsing factor or bad coils they had. I hope that is all resolved for them. Would love to see a head to head in field test between them. Nice targets and really nice depths. It seems like you are having some fun with it now. Nice hunt.

I didn't notice erratic behavior on the V3 before the upgrade.

Was this with the D2 coil?

Diggler, Yes, I've only been using the stock D2 coil. Never had a problem with it.
