The last 10 days have been busy and I've pulled up a lot of silver. I've also continued finding large cents in different spots, the 1802 on a club hunt and the 1817 in a school yard of all places. The school yard has turned up a lot of silver and it borders some woods where I've turned up numerous large cents and seated coins. Love pulling up so much silver and always like to add a large cent. By the way, there is no S on the back of the 1908 Indian. I did find one of those years ago.

Fantastic Don. I'm always amazed at how easy you seem to make it look. I'm still looking for my first LC (outside my coin collection that is!).

Thanks BTV. I seem to be on a large cent roll. Sometimes it just seems to happen that way. Keep in mind, I'm always looking for really old spots to detect and asking permission to hunt private property. I found 6 LC's in one day at an old farm I had permission to hunt. I also found 4 LC's at an old wooded site that showed up on an old map as having two homes 150 years ago. That site also produced a seated half, 2 seated quarters and a host of other coins. Two of my LC finds this year came from club hunts at old farms. You can find the large cents. You just have to be looking in the right spots. A little luck never hurts as I was the only one to pull a LC out of our last club hunt, the 1802 pictured. Keep swinging the loop in the right spots and the LC's will show up. Good luck!

As has been said, 'WOW'. That is some phenomenal hunting. I can't even imagine a site like that is still around.

Congrats on an awesome hunt.

Thanks for the encouragement Don. I'll get there, if not by pure persistence. By the way, hit a few Starksboro, VT cellars last week. Man were they briar/nettle infested. No coins, but pulled a couple of buttons among a few other interesting keepers. Second hole had a big stone walled enclosed open area which I plan to return to sometime later this year.

Now THAT is a lot of silver! :shocked04: :wow:

And a really nice 1802 Draped Bust large cent too! I would be on cloud nine for a month if I ever found a Draped Bust! Of course the 1817 Matron Head isn't bad either.
