Small Metal Canisters

While I was detecting an old site from the 30's my son wandered off to see if he could find the old outhouse site because he likes old bottles. Instead he stumbled across an old dump site, probably from the 50's, and probably unrelated to the site I was hunting. He did find some neat old bottles, but also found four small cylindrical metal canisters. Any ideas?

A lot of things come in small tubes. If this link works, it shows some of them. Vaseline, pain pills etc... Just scroll through some of the pictures to see a couple varieties.
