I got permission from a friend to come hunt his house he lives on main st in my town which was founded in 1803 so I went tonight for about 45min and im so glad I did I found a 1954 D Roosevelt Dime and a 1945 Wheatie I was in awe I know its just a Rosie to some but its a milestone for me :yahoo: HH 39988

I hope so cant wait to go back thats for sure it was hard to leave after finding that but the good thing is its just a 100 yard walk up the hill from my house

My Son's 1st Silver was a Rosie and I still have it in a special case. It's all gravy from here on out. Great Hunt. Wisconsin Digger

It's always nice when you find your first in any category. Congrats on your first silver.

From the photo it looks like you dug a large, messy hole to retrieve the coin. Couldn't tell if it was grass or not. Please be careful when digging. Take your time to center and if it's grass, dig a square shouldered, 3 sided plug to flip over so it's easy to replace. Leave a place like you found it so nobody will ever know you were there. If you dig like that you will get lots of invitations to detect. If you make a mess, particularly on public property you will find you will be banned.

Way to go on your first silver!

Thanks I just took a close up pic I try and dig every plug as nice and clean as I can and I have a cloth to put any dirt I take out of the hole on and put it back like it was before thanks for the congrats and on the advise :)
