Went out for a short hunt a couple of hours at an old school site, that has spots with lots of junk; spots with lots of iron; and spots that are clean. I figured that would give the 17" CTX coil a workout or shall I say let me learn more. Pinpointing was not a problem, that was my main concern. Only the first target was a bit hard at first but after that it seemed to be easier to figure it out. Mostly clad but I did get a smooshed silver ring! Silver a good start for a new coil

For those that have not seen one here is a comparison shot 17" on CTX --- Pro Coil next to it on E-Trac which is the same size as the stock CTX coil.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee.."Now that's a coil mate!"

I found the 17" coil to work very well on the CTX. It was sensitive to small targets and allowed me to work the fields and cover a lot more ground than the 11" coil. The weight was not as noticeable as I expected. Glad you found some silver with it!!
