Got kidsitters for my boys and went for an ALL DAY hunt on Sunday with Handyman (Kevin) and Commotion (Heather) It was a beautiful warm sunny day and hunted an old school/academy that was especailly active in early 1900's. The yard was huge & nicely landscaped with tall shady trees everywhere. The old statues took you back in time and the occasional foundation/brick stairs/ stone doorstep landings gave clues to where buildings once stood.

I didn't find any silver, but did find an 1851 Queen Victoria half cent! And the old brass key is my second favorite lol The other key looking thing is very intricate, Kevin says it probably to turn the wick on an old lantern.... Too bad the thimble from Germany is crushed. It says Chi-namel Prize Grainer Germany * with a star. I couldn't find anything online!

Hey Tana, Nice finds especially the copper lol Can you tell, we have a thing for coppers ;) Sounds like a great place to detect and sounds like there is a lot of room to miss some goods! So keep at it and hopefully more finds will come from it. There has got to be silver there

Very nice finds, love the copper! They do come out of the ground reasonably well around here. Definitely a site to hit again!

Thanks! Yeah I think the good luck 'charm' is pretty neat. It's like it came off of something, like a lid, but there's no threads. Like a cap! I was going to try and google it- thanks for reminding me lol

I thought you might like that, you copper head :) The man who runs the place said he's been letting people metal detect every year for 30 yrs. But there is still silver - Kevin found 3! :clapping: I talked to him earlier today and he mentioned posting them on here...

Btw, I've decided to move up to a V3 :happydance01: I do believe this is for life, I can't see me ever getting tired of pulling mysterious treasures out of the ground...
