Yesterday (Saturday) I met up a couple of friends I met through YouTube, Tom and his son Neil who are from the Peoria area. We ended up hunting at four different parks. At the first park I got an 1886 Indian Head Cent, a 1905 V Nickel and a 1916 Buffalo Nickel. I was happy to get the 1886 Indian Head because that filled a hole in my collection of dug Indian Heads.

At the second park I only found one keeper, a 1913 Type I Buffalo Nickel. Tom got a nice 1901 Barber Dime there.

The third park was a bust, nobody found anything old.

At the fourth park I found a 1904 Indian Head Cent right before Tom and Neil had to leave. I continued to hunt at the park after they left and found a 1913 Type II Buffalo Nickel and a 1900 Barber Dime.

Today I hunted at an old campground at the invitation of the owner, but I didn't find any old coins, just clad. On my way home I stopped at Trade Token Park and found a 1939-D Washington Quarter.

Very odd thing about this weekend's hunts: I didn't find a single wheat cent either day. Very strange.

Here are the keepers before cleaning:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting! :beerbuddy:

Nice assortment of finds Tony. You're killing it with the old nickels! Doesn't that Special Olympics medal fill a hole in your collection too? :poke:

Some nice coins there Tony. :clapping:Love when the Indians start getting into the 80's or earlier. Both varieties of the '13 Buffalo is hard to do too. You did pretty well. Don't think the fact that you found NO wheats is going to hurt you at all
