I found these yesterday beside a home built in the 20s.I don`t think there old ,but I thought they are cool. At first I thought someone had too much time on their hands to smash spoons down ,but after looking closer I noticed a small hole in them where fishing string is still there. I thought George (coinnut) might get a kick out of. What other stuff could we smash down to make wind chimes out of? I`m going to clean them up and hang them out.

:thinkingabout: I always thought it would be cool to make a wind chime or a door chime out of some of the old crotal bells I've found over the years.
But I can't come up with a descent design.

Hey Robbie are they just silver plated spoons or solid silver ones , they would definitely have a unique chimes if they had many different metal types hanging up to make the sounds.

Very nice Robbie, and an interesting idea! Post what you eventually do with them.

I have a wind chime made of old spoons, bought it at a antique flea market years ago.

Nice. They will sound good when you string them. You can make chimes out of just about anything  I had a nice bamboo set a while back.

There are some folks on this site that have enough old detectors to make several sets of wind chimes. The sound of plastic and carbon fiber colliding might not be to appealing, but it would be a different look ;)

Yes we do, but really? I thought about it and yes I have copper,& brass pipes But I`m not hanging that kind of stuff out around my neck off the woods, let alone any kind of silver.

I had a bamboo set too. It did not last very long in the weather.
