What's something you really would like to find, but it eludes you?
I'm looking for my first 1700s coin... my oldest is an 1801 Draped Bust Large Cent... so close but yet so far! :girlcry:

Ahhhh , there is still many things on my bucket list  some Mass. silver or draped best silver would be up there close to the top or even an early military buckle or plate .

Lots of stuff but I'd really like to find a gold coin, that's been at the top of the list since I started detecting

A dollar coin, silver spoon or buckle, flying eagle cent, US silver older than 1840, cut coin, gold coin, GW button, ox knob, SLQ, just to name a few off the top of my head.

I have been detecting for 5 years now and have never found a standing liberty quarter! I have found seated, Barbers and of course Washingtons but never a SLQ.

The peace and tranquility that I find while detecting is all that I ask.

I enjoy finding what ever comes my way....but if the powers to be, want to give me a willow tree shilling or a Higley copper, I would not resist

I would be esctatic if I could get my bride to detect with me. She golfs & hikes with me but so far fishing & metal detecting are not her cup of tea.:)

A cache of 19th+ century coins in a rusty can that I have to pry open :thumbsup02: The anticipation is the best part...

The can is heavy, I shake it once and can tell there are many coins within...

or in an intricate silver case like this guy
