Alec and I hunted a couple of parks in the same town today. Both were from the 1830s so we had high hopes. As usual, they were obviously hunted to death but we managed a few nice finds. At the first park I hit a 5 Quarter spill near the surface. they just kept coming. all state quarters and all different states. After I filled the hole, I checked it one more time, about a foot away I got another 12-47 about 2" deep. This time it was a 1942 Washington. Go figure. about a half hour later I dug a 1943 Merc. Alec dug 3 Wheats. we hunted that park for about 2 1/2 hours and decided to move across town.
At the second park i dug a Token the size of a penny. It read," Stereoscopic pictures & instruments for sale. " and 4 Wheats.
Alec dug a very nice 1864 Indian Head Penny right next to a Civil War monument that was erected in 1866 and another wheat.
This is the oldest coin he's dug so far.

Congrats on the silver and the 1864 "L" Indian Head, but my favorite is definitely the token! That's an oldie for sure.

What about that earring that looks like gold with diamonds?

Exactly, it looks like gold with diamonds but i'm sure it's just plated. although, it did ring up at 12-12
