August 14th finds from the park

I managed to find me a silver rosie, cool native american style button, 4 wheats, a little clad and a good amount of junk stuff. The button did have an iron backing on it (2 piece) but it crumbled up during cleaning. I've over looked this park for goodies for a long time cause I think it's about the first place people go to metal detect in this town plus it's one of the most popular parks that has just about everything. Many many picnics have been in this park since 1910. I'll probably continue hitting this park a lot in the near future cause there's still goodies to be found plus a lot of the ground is continuously saturated due to Portage creek that runs through it. I would like trying water detecting here however it's a designated trout stream and they're off limits to metal detecting.

The rosie and wheats would be enough to bring me back. Don't worry about the other detectorists, they always leave something behind.

:congrats:on your keepers.

congrats on the silver Larry , I'm with Jeff about the thunder bird button . Its a unique looking button :smitten:

Good looking button and can be a good luck charm too. People should not bother you when you detect, as you never want to get the thunderbird angry at you :shocked04:
