The Hidden Beauty In "Junk"!

When you search fields and old houses sites you find a lot of miscellaneous brass item, normally they are quite discolored and you can not tell if there is much of a pattern on them, some of the designs can be intricate and beautiful. Even the simple lipstick tube, buckle and drawer pull can have a beauty of function and design. I have started tumbling some of these finds and I am amazed sometimes to see what comes out. The one piece here is fascinating it shows an Eagle!? Head biting something, what the purpose of this piece was I will probably never know but it will look nice in my display case.

Tony they look very nice tumbled :wow:, the eagle piece looks pretty early maybe federal era (1810 -30's).

Cool looking relics! I agree, the workmanship is astounding considering the product line. A lot of effort and talent when into designing something as simple as a drawer pull or lipstick case. Nicely cleaned Tony :thumbsup01:
