Yesterday's cellar hole hunt had to be up there for one of the most grueling but it was worth it as I got my 1st 100% complete solid silver 1700's knee(breach buckle). It has a solid silver frame and brass tongue and chape that still swivels very smoothly. This particular spot was in the area that I had gotten permission to hunt last year and then Dave pointed it out to me and we both agreed there was a good chance for a cellar hole site. The hike in to the site was 1-1/2 to 2 miles in with very rugged steep hills and thick bush. Mosquitos were brutal but in the end, we were both very happy we went for it.

Never got around to posting last weeks finds in which I got another knee buckle but only the frame. It seems to be applied pewter on brass. Also scored two shot coppers from the farm field, A King George II and Classic Head Large sent.

That buckle looks crazy good with the silver and the patina. Maybe an avatar change is now in order? Any idea the age of the religious pendant?

Not sure on the age of the religious medallion Mango, I was hoping some one on here might know. I am thinking late 1800's-1940's range?

Turned out to be a rewarding hunt Todd, especially what you had to go through to get there.

Beautiful silver buckle :loveit: They don't turn up that often. Love the button too, very different blank used on that one. Beats the round flat buttons any day :thumbsup01: Yep, no crying or whining at cellar holes.
