When the ground is moist the silver starts a-poppin'! :thumbsup01:

We have had a LOT of rain here lately and the soil has become nice and wet. The silver coins are starting to reappear at sites that I have pounded to death.

Three of the Mercs are from a hunt this past Saturday with my friend Tom. I got the Indian Head and the 1898 Barber Dime yesterday on my lunch hour in the old park that has been pounded to death. And I got the 2 Rosies, 1 Merc and the silver ring at an old school after work today. I have been hunting this school for 4 years and I am amazed at what I can still find there when the ground is wet.

Thats a great bunch of coins Tony. That Barber Dime and Indian head are better than a big Mac any day. :thumbsup01:
I hope tomorrows lunch is as tasty as yesterdays.

Nice pile there Tony. That ring is almost big enough to pop one of those dimes in.

Great finds Tony. Condition wise, what a difference between your two 1917 mercs. A little rain can go a long ways.......:congrats:on your pile of keepers.

Thanks for sharing Tony. Like you mentioned, we're into that two month period before winter when the rains return more frequently, the ground moistens up and you start finding more deep targets. Pretty good detail on the first 1917 Merc as well.

Great hunt Tony ! :wow::congrats: We finally got some light rain here in the San Francisco Bay Area .Only a Day's worth and very light . None scheduled for the immediate near future . I'm sure some significant rain would lead to a few more finds in the hunted out places also . More importantly
It would save the state from going up in one big ball of flame .

Nice finds Tony. I see your silver count is really starting to climb. Is that ring an actual ring (missing the dangly thing of course) or is it a coin bezel missing the coin? Best wishes and HH, Dave.

Is that ring an actual ring (missing the dangly thing of course) or is it a coin bezel missing the coin?

Best I can tell it's an actual ring that has a loop attached. The inside is smooth, it doesn't have any kind of groove or slot for holding a coin. It's marked .925 MEX on the inside.

I did double check the hole to make sure there wasn't anything else in there.

Great bunch of coins. I like the contrast of the 2 1917 Merc's. Definitely lost at different times. Great coins. WD
